Walk-In Counselling Option for Adults AND Youth Now Available!
A walk-in counselling option is available now for children, youth and adults (aged 7 and up) on Tuesdays (8:00am-4:00pm) and Thursdays (10:00am-6:00pm) at NHH’s Community Mental Health Services office located at 1011 Elgin Street West, Suite 200, Cobourg.
How does the walk-in service work?
Individuals seeking the walk-in option do not require a referral from a physician. Seen on a first-come, first-served basis, walk-in clients meet first with a community mental health staff member who will assess them for appropriateness for walk-in support. Once confirmed, clients receive a same day individual counselling appointment.
Children and youth walk-in services are provided in partnership with Northumberland Community Counselling Centre (NCCC) and Rebound Child and Youth Services. Should the walk-in clinic become full on a given day, clients will be asked to return on the next Tuesday or Thursday. There is no limit to the number of times an individual can access the walk-in clinic.
