CRAM-A-CRUISER: Promises to keep pace with demand with your help

Cobourg: The annual Cram-A-Cruiser Food Drive will come to the following venues this Saturday, December 6. Each year the local police forces of Cobourg and Port Hope are on hand to collect your contributions to help fill the food banks in time for Christmas.
Northumberland Fare Share Food Banks can really use a helping hand - this year more than ever. “We are seeing decided increases in demand - different than usual”, sites Peter Gabany, Communications Director for the bank, “There are additional people in need in Port Hope and the number of double income or no income families not able to make ends meet are growing in Cobourg. Unfortunately one figure that has remained consistent for the past 3 years is the fact that 36% of the people in need are children”.
This year our woman and men in blue will be on hand at Walmart & David’s No Frills to collect both food and toys from 10am - 4 pm, while Giant Tiger, Metro Grocers (Port Hope) and Davis’ Independent will the donor location for Port Hope from 10am - 2pm. People are urged to give online at www.fareshare.ca if they can’t make it to the food collections locations.
The board of directors and volunteer staff of the food banks wish to extend a safe and joyous Christmas and Holiday Season to everyone and special thanks to our local Police Forces for helping bring joy to those less fortunate.
