Police food collection event a ‘cram-tastic’ success
With two vanloads of non-perishables and nearly $3000 in financial contributions collected for Fare Share Saturday afternoon, the Port Hope Police “Cram-A-Cruiser” event at Davis Independent and Metro has officially been declared a great success.
Police cruisers were parked outside both stores between noon and 4 p.m. With their lights flashing and Christmas music pouring from the open car doors, the collection point was hard to miss!
The cruisers were, in fact, crammed to the bursting point by the end of the day, and police volunteers were using shopping carts to collect the overflow.
Fare Share would like to thank the PHPD and everyone in our community who contributed during Saturday’s Cram-A-Cruiser event. Your donations are appreciated – happy holidays!
