Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank’s Annual General Meeting

There’s plenty to celebrate at this year’s annual general meeting June 13 and you’re invited.

The Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank’s board and staff will meet at the Port Hope Knights of Columbus Hall to discuss the future of the banks’ continued operations in Northumberland. They will be reviewing the 2012 fiscal year and comparing a mid-term report card of their 2013 objectives.

Additionally, nominations and votes will be taken for board members. Members of the public are encouraged to nominate two open board positions. Everyone present will have the opportunity to vote and provide input on food bank matters.

The meeting will feature a panel discussion on what is was like to fend for oneself on $1.75 per day and on the food that people receive from the food bank. Town Councillors, Mary Lou Ellis and Jeff Lees as well as Northumberland News Editor, Crystal Crimi, participants in the recent Hunger Awareness Challenge, will give their perspectives on the challenges of getting by with so little.

The public AGM meeting will kick off at 6:30 p.m. at the hall. Everyone is welcome to attend.
