Fare Share Joins the Canada Day Celebration in Grafton

Keep an eye out for Fare Share’s van in Grafton’s annual Canada Day parade June 30th.

The van will take part in the parade, which starts at 2:15 p.m. in downtown Grafton, and will be collecting donations of cash or food to HELP FEED OUR NEIGHBOURS.

Sandra Walls, town councillor for Alnwick/Haldminand Township says that that the food bank is a welcome addition to the town’s parade.

“I never underestimate the generosity of Alnwick/Haldimand and I expect a warm reception,” said Walls. “Homelessness and hunger is everybody’s responsibility. Providing an opportunity for non-perishable food item collection is a small step, but a step, in the right direction.”

Once the parade is finished participants are encouraged to visit the arena – Fare Share Food Banks will be on hand to answer any questions and receive your donations.
