Donate Your New or Used Set of Low Milage Wheels

Donation of shopping carts appreciated - new or used good condition

Cobourg: It may seem peculiar but handing out more food has it’s own set of challenges. Fare Share has successfully increased it’s distribution of food from 8.8 lbs on average per person to 19.2 lbs per person currently plus 4 litres of milk per family. On occasion the food bank is also able to provide fresh fruit and vegetables and again adding to what is handed out.

While the additional food stuffs are very much appreciated the difficulty of getting food home becomes apparent. Obviously not everyone drives and the transit schedule while convenient is still not the best solution. The bags can weigh between 20 and 35 lbs and for a single individual, especially the aged presents added difficulty.

Fare Share is therefor asking if anyone might have a new or used bundle buggy (struggle buggy, shopping cart) to donate to the bank that we may pass on to our clients?

New buggies are available at Canadian Tire, Home Depot and Walmart stores. Donations of buggies would be happily received during regular hours at either the Cobourg or Port Hope location. www.fareshare.ca
