Community Tills Their Soil in Support of Food Banks

Cobourg – Saturday, July 28, 1p.m. will see the launch of a very special community garden. Residents of New Amherst, a growing community of new homes and commercial offices has created a rather large community garden. In it's planning, participants set aside an area within the garden devoted to producing vegetables for Northumberland's Fare Share Food Banks.

Join us this weekend at 1p.m. as officials will launch the New Amherst Community Garden. Organizers want you to know that the whole family is invited. There will be much to see, including a kids tent with activities including the building of a scarecrow for the community garden. On the heels of the opening of the garden, attendees will have the opportunity to attend the opening of the new Hillside Estate model home – a new addition to this fabulous community.
