6th Northumberland’s Biggest Coffee Morning a Success

6th Northumberland’s Biggest Coffee Morning a Success

Northumberland County – The Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce that $44,712 was raised during the 6th Northumberland’s Biggest Coffee Morning event. With more than 50 coffee parties held across west Northumberland, guests and their hosts enjoyed laughter and fellowship, while making donations toward the purchase of new medical equipment for the Northumberland Hills Hospital.

As a result, 2 laparoscopes will be purchased for the Surgical Services program at the hospital. A Laparoscope is a flexible fiber optic instrument, passed through a small incision in the abdominal wall which is used to examine the abdominal cavity or perform minor surgery. Laparoscopic surgery is becoming more prevalent and our surgeons’ need for these tools is on the rise.

This result would not have been possible without an army of supporters, volunteers, sponsors and of course – the very generous attendees.

Since it began in 2007, Northumberland’s Biggest Coffee Morning has raised over $308,700 for the hospital.

This year’s Northumberland’s Biggest Coffee Morning will be held in memory of three fine gentlemen in the community who sadly passed away this past year – Charles (Chuck) Orviss, Nick O’Nians and Hawley Hoselton and this success is a great tribute to their dedication and support of the west Northumberland community.

Special thanks to the sponsors of this year’s event Sabic Innovative Plastics, Bright Ideas Design, and Cobourg Internet.
