Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN)
NHH works in partnership with The Ontario Telemedicine Network to provide virtual medicine to both outpatients and inpatients. This service provides access to specialized health care closer to home, reduces wait times and cost.
OTN uses state-of-the-art telemedicine technology to deliver virtual medicine through a secure, encrypted network and visits are not recorded. A telemedicine appointment is just like a regular appointment, only the specialist is seen and heard on a monitor. A registered nurse may be present during your appointment to assist with your assessment. OTN allows NHH to facilitate outpatient and inpatient consultations in a broad range of areas including mental health, cardiovascular surgery, neurology, oncology, infectious disease, movement disorders, and wound care, as well as burn, bariatric and orthopaedic surgery follow-up appointments.
For information on how to access care for yourself or a loved one through OTN please contact NHH's OTN Coordinator at telemedicine@nhh.ca or 905-372-6811, ext. 3050.
