NHH’s Canada flag at half-mast on Wed, September 23rd in honour of deceased NHH Auxiliary volunteers
The Canada flag outside the main entrance at Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) is lowered today in honour of the dedicated NHH Auxiliary volunteers who passed away in the last year.
Coordinated in conjunction with a reading of their names at the NHH Auxiliary’s Annual General Meeting, this annual tradition—started in 2019—recognizes the exceptional commitment of Auxiliary volunteers throughout the hospital.
Auxiliary members gave more than 30,000 hours of their time to NHH in 2019/20, providing support that stretches throughout the entire hospital operation, from way-finding to fundraising and many essential activities in between. While many in-hospital Auxiliary volunteer activities remain temporarily paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we know that the generosity of spirit of this outstanding team continues to inspire and support the NHH team from afar. Thank you, NHH Auxiliary, for all you do for NHH and the patients and families we serve.
