Tom McLean
First Vice Chair, Ward 2
Tom McLean brings a wealth of financial expertise and past knowledge of Northumberland Hills Hospital achieved as a Board Director from 2003 to 2009.
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from Queen’s University, McLean joined National Trust in Toronto. He held a variety of roles with increasing responsibilities throughout his years in the trust industry, moving from Toronto to Ottawa, then Kingston, then Cornwall and settling in Cobourg where his roles included Branch Manager for the Toronto Dominion (TD) Bank. In 2001, McLean took on the role of Wealth Financial Planner at TD, which allowed him to follow his interests and put down permanent roots in Cobourg.
McLean has always played a role within the communities in which he has resided and in addition to the Rotary Club of Cobourg and NHH, he has volunteered for the Northumberland United Way and the NHH Foundation Board. Previously a Vice Chair of the NHH Board, Chair of the Operations Committee and a member of the Executive Compensation Committee, McLean has most recently (2020/21) chaired the Board's Finance and Audit Committee and served as a Director on the Committees responsible for Governance, Nominating and CEO Evaluation and Compensation. He was appointed First Vice Chair of the Board at the June 2022 Annual Meeting.
