Laurel Savoy
A results-oriented leader and resident of Cobourg for the past 10 years, Laurel Savoy brings over three decades of progressive experience in the securities, and most recently, health care sectors to Northumberland Hills Hospital.
After receiving her Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University, Laurel gained professional experience through a number of diverse roles ranging from Vice President Trust Services (Eastern Region) with CIBC Mellon Trust Company, Senior Vice President at the Canadian Stock Transfer Company and President and CEO at CST Trust Company. Laurel brought those skills to the local health care sector six years ago, providing collaborative leadership and project support first as Executive Director of the Northumberland Family Health Team (October 2015 – September 2019) and, more recently, as Project Manager supporting the early development of the Ontario Health Team of Northumberland (September 2019 to July 2021).
Laurel’s senior professional experience is augmented by her work as a community volunteer actively involved with multiple organizations and causes in Northumberland County, including Cobourg’s COVID-19 Vaccine Volunteer Team and Community Care Northumberland.
She brings a diverse background in governance as a former board member for Canadian Society of Corporate Secretaries (now Governance Professionals of Canada) and as a current board member for Computershare Trust Company of Canada.
Here in Northumberland County, Laurel has served as a Board Member and Chair of the Governance Committee for Northumberland United Way and Secretary and Treasurer for the Northumberland Family Health Team.
Laurel was appointed to the NHH Board of Directors at the June 2022 Annual Meeting. Prior to joining the Board as a Director Laurel supported the work of the NHH Board as a Community Committee member and a member of the Strategic Planning Collaborative Action Team.
