Laina Andrews

Laina Andrews is an experienced educational leader and community advocate with a strong record of strategic leadership, equity-focused system improvement, and collaborative governance. She currently serves as Bachelor of Education Program and Practicum Administrator at Ontario Tech University, where she has expanded provincial partnerships and strengthened program integrity.

Previously, as Superintendent of Education Laina held portfolios spanning Human Resources, Secondary Programming, Student Achievement and Well-Being, Mental Health Services, Safe Schools, and School Leadership and Supervision. In these roles she led equitable hiring reforms, collective agreement negotiations, succession planning, and system-wide initiatives that reduced suspensions and expulsions, strengthened mental health supports, and advanced Truth and Reconciliation commitments. Earlier leadership as a secondary school principal and vice-principal included school consolidation, specialized program development, and the creation of inclusive spaces such as the first Indigenous Gathering Space in her board.

Laina has contributed to provincial education policy, mentorship programs, and professional learning through organizations including the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association, Ontario Public Supervisory Officers Association and the Ontario Principals’ Council.

Laina brings to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Board a deep commitment to inclusive, high-performing organizations that prioritize well-being, ethical leadership, and meaningful community partnership.

As a Board Director, Laina serves on the Quality and Safety and Facilities and Campus Development Committees.
