Kate Zimmerman

Vice President, Integrated Care and Chief Nursing Executive *

Kate has been with Northumberland Hills Hospital since September 2022 as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.  Kate is the Vice President of Integrated Care and Chief Nursing Executive (CNE) overseeing all clinical operations of the hospital inclusive of Acute Care, Post-Acute Specialty Services, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Cancer and Supportive Care, Dialysis, Maternal/Child Care, Pharmacy, Community Mental Health Services, Surgical Services, Ambulatory Care and Professional Practice.

Throughout her career, Kate has continuously demonstrated a strong commitment to collaborative, interprofessional practice, strategic change initiatives and excellence in the experience of care for patients and their families. 

Prior to joining NHH, Kate spent 7 years at Mackenzie Health in various leadership positions as the Corporate Risk Manager, Director of Professional Practice, and most recently Kate held the role of Director of the Regional Chronic Kidney Disease Program and Medicine Program supporting care across multiple sites.

A Registered Nurse by training, Kate also holds a Master of Health Studies degree from Athabasca University, is a Certified Health Executive, Canadian College of Health Leaders and is an Adjunct Professor for the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto.

Ward 2 is the Town of Cobourg
Ward 3 is all other townships within the Hospital’s West Northumberland catchment area (Hamilton, Cramahe and Alnwick/Haldimand)
