NHH Auxiliary exceeds annual commitment to NHH by $50,000

At the 87th Annual General Meeting of the Northumberland Hills Hospital Auxiliary, CEO Robert Biron was presented with an envelope by outgoing president Dale Hodge.

The envelope contained nothing. The Auxiliary’s gift to the hospital is handed over before the March 31st year-end and the envelope at the May AGM is usually for photo ops only. This year the Auxiliary had given Mr. Biron a cheque for $150,000 in March, fulfilling its commitment for 2009-2010.

After Dale’s faux envelope was handed over, Laura Scrivener, Director of Finance for the auxiliary presented another envelope to Mr. Biron. Much to the surprise of all, it contained a cheque for $50,000, money the auxiliary has raised in excess of its commitment. This brings the total to $200,000.00, a landmark sum and a tribute to the fundraising efforts of the members. It is money that will go to the replacing of ‘tired’ equipment and the purchasing of new.
