Annual Poinsettia Tea with a twist!

Several twists, actually! The NHH Auxiliary’s Poinsettia Tea committee decided to kick it up a notch or two this year so there are a few changes.

We have thoroughly enjoyed a fashion show for the last five years but we thought this year it was time for something different. Neil Crone is a well-known actor (Little Mosque on the Prairie), writer (he has a column in Northumberland Today every week) and a very funny speaker. We are delighted that he is available to come and entertain us at this year’s tea, and can guarantee that you will be chuckling into your teacups. Or wineglasses.

Which brings us to another change: there will be a wine bar for those who would like to purchase a little red, white or pink libation as well as (or instead of) tea.

And of course, there will be delectables at each table, which will include a savoury plate, a sandwich plate and the ever-delightful scones and jam.

Please mark your calendars for Sunday, November 28th from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom at the Best Western Inn, Cobourg. Tickets are on sale now for $30 and can be purchased at the lottery kiosk inside the front entrance at Northumberland Hills Hospital.

And don’t forget to put cash in your wallets for the draw. Tickets are $20, and as usual there will be some amazing gifts to be won. Every single one of them worth considerably more than $20.

The poinsettias are spreading their roots as you read this and will be ready, in all their glory, for guests to take home on November 28th.
