New Vice President, Chief Financial Officer welcomed at NHH
Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) has welcomed Abhi Mukherjee to its senior management team.
Mukherjee was the successful candidate following NHH’s recent search for a Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. His first day at NHH was Monday, January 28th, 2019.
Most recently with University Health Network (UHN) in Toronto, Mukherjee is a Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA – Ontario) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA, Colorado, USA) by profession. He completed his early education in India, where he obtained both an Honours degree in Commerce and his Chartered Accountant designation, before immigrating to Canada in 2003 to join the Toronto office of Deloitte and Touche, a global professional services firm.
Mukherjee brings a unique mix of public and private expertise, spanning the health care sector, financial services and the airline industry. LEAN Green Belt certified, he has completed numerous healthcare leadership development programs with the University Health Network and the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. With UHN since 2013, most recently as Director of Finance, he was previously Finance Manager with St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto. Mukherjee spent close to five years prior to that with Bausch & Lomb Canada, where he rose to the position of Finance Controller for Canada (2010-2012).
A senior financial executive, Mukherjee’s experience at UHN provided him a unique lens onto Ontario’s complex healthcare funding model. At UHN, he led a finance team for two clinical portfolios (Medical Imaging and Laboratory Medicine) as well as several corporate portfolios (enterprise information technology services, biomedical engineering, telehealth, transcription services, health records and the project management office), with a combined operating budget of over $200 million/year and $14 million in annual capital expenses.
