Northumberland Street Hockey Festival is Back

Northumberland Street Hockey Festival is Back

For Immediate Release, April 1, 2010

Northumberland – Calling all street hockey enthusiasts. Organizers of the Northumberland Street Hockey Festival, presented by Canadian Tire, are pleased to announce that this year’s tournament will take place simultaneously in three Northumberland communities on Saturday, May 15th. Teams will have the choice of participating at any of the three event locations:

The charity street hockey festival was introduced five years ago in Cobourg by Damien Cunningham as a fun event in support of the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation. Last year, the Street Hockey Festival raised over $8,300 toward the purchase of medical equipment for the hospital.

To register a team in the 2010 Northumberland Street Hockey Festival, please contact the organizer in your community.

Players of all ages and gender are welcome. It is strongly recommended that participants wear the proper safety equipment (i.e. helmet, gloves). Entry for all three locations is $75 per team.

Registration forms are also available on-line under Foundation Events at www.nhh.ca.

The organizers of the Northumberland Street Hockey Festival would like to thank Canadian Tire for its continued support as the events presenting sponsor.
