Northumberland’s Biggest Coffee Morning Continues to Brew
NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY – There is still time to register your event for Northumberland’s Biggest Coffee Morning. The fourth annual event will take place on Tuesday, June 15th in private homes, businesses, church halls, coffee shops and restaurants as people come together to enjoy fellowship while raising funds for the Northumberland Hills Hospital.
This year’s event is being held in honour of Alf Blything and Jim Boughen. Both Jim and Alf were dedicated community members who gave of their time, energy, and enthusiasm to many events and organizations in the area. Sadly, both men passed away last year.
The organizing committee is pleased to report that to date 40 “coffee mornings” have registered for Northumberland’s Biggest Coffee Morning to help raise funds for the purchase of high priority medical equipment for the Emergency Department of the Hospital. Hosting an event is a great excuse to meet up with friends, spend a few minutes with colleagues, family members or neighbours, in a place of your choosing, and invite them to make a donation towards the hospital..
There are several scheduled “coffee mornings” open to the public, including, Lakefront Utilities, RBC Dominion Securities at Harden & Huyse Chocolates and the Ruth Clarke Activity Centre. Northumberland MP Rick Norlock, Cobourg Mayor Peter Delanty and the staff at the Northumberland County Building are also hosting “coffee mornings” at their offices. For a complete listing of the public “coffee mornings” visit the Northumberland’s Biggest Coffee Morning website at www.nhhcoffee.ca.
Since it began in 2007, Northumberland’s Biggest Coffee Morning has raised more than $180,000 for the hospital.
You can register your coffee morning event on-line at www.nhhcoffee.ca or pick up a registration form from the Foundation office (located in the hospital, near the main entrance). For more information, call 905-372-6811, extension 3065.
