Northumberland Hills Hospital All-Stars and Cobourg Police Lawmen
Return to the Ice for a Charity Hockey Game
For Immediate Release, February 10, 2010
NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY – It’s the rubber game of the series! The Cobourg Police Lawmen have challenged the Northumberland Hills Hospital All-Stars to another match up for local hockey bragging rights. On Monday, February 15th, at 11 a.m., the two teams will face off at the Cobourg Memorial Arena as part of the Cobourg Winter Festival. It’s the rubber game of the series. The Lawmen won last year’s game 10 to 6. The All-Stars took the first game in the series in 2008 11 – 9.
February 15th is Family Day in Ontario and organizers hope that parents and children will take advantage of the day off to cheer on their favorite police officer or hospital staff member. Immediately following the game there will be a free family skate.
The NHH All-Stars include doctors, medical staff and support service workers. All-Stars Team Captain and hospital Laboratory Technologist Chris Toope says, “This is the rubber match of the series and now more than ever we need the fans to come out and cheer us on.”
“We look forward to this game each year,” says Sergeant Brad Manning, “Its fun for the whole family and we’re happy to help raise funds for the purchase of high priority medical equipment for our local hospital.”
Entry to the hockey game and family skate is free with your Winter Festival wrist band or a donation to the hospital at the door.
Wrist bands are available in advance at Dressler House, the Northumberland Hills Hospital information desk, the Northumberland Mall office, Victoria Hall and the Downtown Cobourg office. For a full list of activities during the Cobourg Winter Festival visit experiencecobourg.ca.
