NHH Foundation Donates Over $2 Million Towards Medical Equipment for Local Patient Care

NORTHUMBERLAND – The Board of Directors of the Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation is extremely pleased to announce that almost $2,100,000 has been invested in patient care equipment at Northumberland Hills Hospital in the past year.

“Credit for this incredible accomplishment rests solely on the shoulders of the community and the Foundation’s outstanding volunteers, “says Rhonda Cunningham, Executive Director of the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation. “Without them, this just wouldn’t be possible.”

The results of the countless hours of fundraising and planning are evident in such an extensive list of items that have been made possible by the community’s generosity including: five (5) low-rise patient beds, two lifepak 20 defibrilators, laparoscopes, colonoscopies, hydraulic stretchers, two ultrasounds, and a transport ventilator to name just a few items.

“It’s so rewarding to see donations immediately put into action and begin serving the patients who turn to our hospital for their care,” states Ann Logan, Chair of the Foundation Board. “As you can well imagine, raising funds in today’s environment and economy is not for the weak at heart. It’s hard work. But when you can turn around and write a cheque for this amount, it makes it so worthwhile.”
