It’s “Cops” versus “Docs” in the Annual Cobourg Police Lawmen/Northumberland Hills Hospital All-Stars Charity Hockey Game
NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY – Get ready to cheer as the Cobourg Police Lawmen take to the ice on Monday, February 21st, versus the Northumberland Hills Hospital All-Stars in their 4th Annual Charity match up for local hockey bragging rights. The two teams will face off at the Cobourg Memorial Arena as part of the Cobourg Winter Festivities. The Lawmen won last year’s game 11 to 9 so the All-Stars are looking for revenge.
February 21st is Family Day in Ontario and organizers hope that parents and children will take advantage of the day off to cheer on their favorite police officer or hospital staff member. Immediately following the game there will be a free family skate.
Organizers are pleased to announce that Cobourg’s own Skin Davey will be performing live prior to the game and during intermissions.
The NHH All-Stars include doctors, medical staff and support service workers. All-Stars Team Captain and hospital laboratory technologist Chris Toope says, “The Lawmen have won the last two match ups and now more than ever we need the fans to come out and cheer us on to victory.”
“We look forward to this game each year,” says Cobourg Police Constable Rich Ferguson, “It’s fun for the whole family and we’re happy to help raise funds for our local hospital.”
Entry to the hockey game and family skate is free however; donations to the hospital will be accepted at the door. Fans making a donation will be entered into a draw for some fabulous prizes including a Chicago Black Hawks jersey signed by Jeremy Roenick, Hockey Hall of Fame passes and a gas gift card.
