NHH Foundation’s Caring for Generations Society

NORTHUMBERLAND – The Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation is pleased to announce that long-time Cobourg resident and businessman Rick Gadd has been named the new chair of the Foundation’s Caring for Generations Society.

Launched in 2002, the Caring for Generations Society was created to raise ongoing annual financial support for priority medical equipment. Since that time, over $1 million has been raised by Society members. Membership in the Society is open to anyone who makes a minimum annual gift of $1,000.

Mr. Gadd takes over the chairmanship from Louise Stevenson, who continues to volunteer for the NHH Foundation as the co-chair of this year’s annual fundraising gala.

Born and raised in Cobourg, Mr. Gadd is the Vice-President of Sales and Business Partner at Custom Plastics International Ltd. on D’arcy St. in Cobourg. He deals with many multi-national companies such as Xerox, Siemens and Belden to name a few. Previously, Rick volunteered for 12 years with Ducks Unlimited. As a third generation Gadd, who has lived and worked in Cobourg, Rick is proud and excited to be a member of the NHH Foundation Board and Chair of the Caring for Generations Society. Rick has four children and eight grandchildren and enjoys a lot of family time at his cottage in the Kawarthas.

“We’re really pleased Rick has agreed to lead the Society given his dedication to our hospital and his love for this community,” says Rhonda Cunningham, Executive Director of the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation. “Rick is a perfect example of a local boy giving back to a community that has given him so much.”

Throughout the year, Society members are recognized at special events and receptions, such as the upcoming annual Donor Appreciation Event scheduled for Thursday, September 20th.

Other members of the Caring for Generations Society Committee include Louise Stevenson, Anne Cross, Judy McLean, Karen Parker, Mary Jane McLaren, Julie Thompson and Ron Tait.
