Annual Light up a Life Campaign Exceeds 2012 Goal!

For Immediate Release, February 6, 2013

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY – The Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation would like to thank the community for their generous support to the annual Light up a Life Campaign. Through many donations made by community members, as well as many local businesses, this year’s campaign has surpassed the original goal.

Funds raised through this year’s campaign will help NHH invest in priority medical equipment for a variety of hospital programs, including:

The goal of the 2012 Light up a Life Campaign was $130,000. The total amount raised through this year’s campaign was $132,765! The extra donations will allow additional equipment to be purchased.

Just a week after mailing out approximately 5000 letters to Foundation supporters, the campaign received a significant boost with a generous donation of $15,000 from local businessman Ken Goodwin and Fisher’s Foodland who wished to purchase the ECG machine on the “wish list” outright.

“Ken’s donation, along with other donations throughout the community has brought this year’s campaign over our original goal.” says Dr. Jay Amin, Light up a Life Campaign Chair. “I am amazed by the support the Foundation has received from the community this year. I have personally signed over 630 letters throughout the campaign, and I am pleased to know, that doctors and staff at Northumberland Hills Hospital are able to provide the best in health care using state-of-the-art equipment, all thanks to this community.”
