6th Annual Northumberland Street Hockey Festival

Northumberland – Local street hockey bragging rights are up for grabs. Organizers of the Northumberland Street Hockey Festival, presented by Canadian Tire, are pleased to announce the 6th annual event will take place on Saturday, May 14th, simultaneously in two Northumberland communities. Teams will have the choice of participating at two event locations:

(Next to the new Cobourg Community Centre)

The annual charity street hockey festival was introduced in 2006 in Cobourg by Damien Cunningham as a fun event in support of the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation. Last year, over 90 teams participated in the Northumberland Street Hockey Festival raising $7,300 for the purchase of essential equipment for the hospital. Since 2006 this event has raised $30,578 for the hospital.

To register a team in the 2011 Northumberland Street Hockey Festival, please contact the organizer in your community.

Players of all ages and gender are welcome. It is strongly recommended that participants wear the proper safety equipment (i.e. helmet, gloves). Entry in Cobourg is $100 per team. The entry in Colborne is $75 per team.
