Manager, Materials Management (temporary, full-time)

Summary of Duties:

Reporting to the VP Finance and Information Services, the Manager Materials Management provides direction, leadership, support, and guidance for the materials management department. The Manager Materials Management is responsible for direct supervision of daily Stores operations and maintaining an effective and efficient department. This includes controlling inventory levels and the distribution of supplies, and coordinating the purchase of a variety of supplies, services and equipment by selecting suppliers and negotiating prices and delivery dates. The Manager Materials Management may issue tender documents for a variety of supplies, services and equipment and award contracts in accordance with the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive.

Education Requirements/Experience:

• University degree preferred. Minimum of two year college education with minimum PMAC Purchasing Certificate or comparable experience in a purchasing/inventory control environment at a supervisory level. It is expected that further educational requirements will be completed as required. Knowledge of WHMIS and quality improvement processes/applications required.
• Current knowledge of hospital shipping, receiving, purchasing, and inventory control processes in a computerized environment
• Knowledge of medical supplies, equipment and terminology
• Minimum 2 years related experience in purchasing, and warehousing operations
• Experience with Ormed Materials Management system preferred
• Ability to use and understand all MS Office products
