Reporting to the Director, Professional Practice, the Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) provides leadership and support for ehealth initiatives across the organization. This position educates, and mentors health care professionals, students and physicians, and works in collaboration with the Information Technology (IT) department to facilitate systems analysis, planning, design, development, testing, education, implementation and maintenance of information systems and clinical support tools. The CIS manages relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, serving as a liaison between frontline users, management and IT professionals.

As the Clinical Informatics Specialist, you will participate in the implementation and maintenance of the IT strategic and tactical plans with particular emphasis on clinical (MEDITECH) applications and act as a primary resource for hospital staff, physicians and students to insure that Clinical Information Systems(CIS)/Electronic Health Record(HER) implementations are optimized based on clinical process redesign and information flow, as it relates to CIS/EHR.

Your project management skills will be required to lead, participate and facilitate the entire project management process for assigned eHealth projects, conduct workflow analysis and provide recommendations for quality clinical improvement.  Using LEAN tools, the CIS facilitates workflow analysis and business process redesign initiatives.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in a regulated clinical discipline
• Minimum 3 years current health care experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Strong change management skills
• Advanced information and communication technology knowledge and skills
• Superior communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Strong organizational, research, analytical, time management and priority setting skills
• Able to function autonomously and collaboratively with diverse teams
• Experience/aptitude for identifying and resolving information systems issues such as process/procedural changes,   
        system enhancements, hardware conflicts and software errors
• Strong conceptual skills including strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making ability
• Able to mentor, coach and facilitate change and innovation
