Position Objective

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President, Patient Services and Chief Nursing Executive (CNE) is responsible for the planning, organization and coordination of the clinical programs and services,. You will establish and maintain strong collaborative working relationships among internal and external health service providers including the Hospital’s medical leadership.

This position is a pivotal member of the Hospital’s senior management team, and hence, has a significant leadership role in achieving the goals of the Hospital’s strategic plan and in creating an environment that promotes clinical and administrative best practices and excellence.

As the VP, Patient Services and CNE, you will demonstrate collaborative leadership, working closely with members of the senior management team while supporting and mentoring those reporting directly to you. Your passion for teamwork, quality and enhancing the patient care experience at NHH is essential to this role.

Qualifications

• Masters of Science in Nursing (preferred);
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing with post graduate education in health administration or related field required;
• Progressive senior executive leadership experience in nursing professional practice and healthcare administration;
• Demonstrated commitment to collaboration and teamwork;
• Demonstrated operational experience in budget, program development and human resource management;
• Significant track record in advancing patient care delivery;
• Well versed in utilization and clinical service management;
• Solid track record at working effectively with medical staff and physicians;
• Strong advocate for patient centered care;
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing education and learning

Who we are

Located approximately 100 kilometres east of Toronto, Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) delivers a broad range of acute, post-acute, outpatient and diagnostic services.

The hospital serves a catchment area known as west Northumberland County. A mixed urban and rural population of approximately 60,000 residents, west Northumberland comprises the Town of Cobourg, the Municipality of Port Hope and the townships of Hamilton, Cramahe and Alnwick/Haldimand.

NHH employs approximately 600 people and relies on the additional support provided by physicians and volunteers.
