As a key member of the pharmacy team, the Omnicell System Administrator/Pharmacy IT Analyst position is responsible for the ongoing maintenance, reporting and optimization of the automated dispensing cabinets and the system support of Meditech PHA.  Reporting directly to the pharmacy manager,  this individual will work in accordance to NHH’s strategic plan; including our shared purpose, core values, strategic priorities and our strategic enablers.
This position will primarily be Monday to Friday and will require flexibility including some evenings or weekends to cover operational needs and projects for the department

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

Omnicell System Administrator

  •  Ability to prioritize daily tasks and manage administration workflow of the Omnicell system
  •  Work with pharmacy manager to review and manage system users and their access roles
  •  Apply the many standard and custom reports available in Omnicell.
  •  Monitoring analytic reports for the purpose of narcotic diversion and reporting to management and potentially  
         Health Canada
  •  Review and maintain the following reports, financial,  operational, pharmacy, diversion and report discoveries
         to pharmacy manager
  •  Maintaining database for drug additions/deletions, barcodes, users, scheduling of reports for restocking,
         reviewing reports to optimize inventory control
  •  Answering and responding to calls for assistance of healthcare staff to help troubleshoot
  •  Work with colleagues, IT staff and at times with outside vendors on projects, testing or potential new systems
  •  Continuing education to maintain competency
  •  Responsible to provide orientation, train and educate other staff as appropriate
  •  Must attend meetings, huddles, presentations and assist where required


Pharmacy IT Analyst

  •      All aspects of Pharmacy (PHA) system management, under the direction of the pharmacy manager
  •      Coordinating the implementation of the latest release of upgrades to Omnicell or PHA system software
  •      from the vendor
  •  Assisting IT and potentially afterhours support in the coordination of all downtime events, upgrades and
         inventory pertaining to Pharmacy (PHA) Systems
  •  Build, maintain, and manage Meditech and Omnicell Reports
  •  Investigate and assist in solving operational issues and concerns surrounding pharmacy systems
  •   Provide orientation to new staff, train and educate existing pharmacy staff as appropriate
  •  Attend meetings, huddles, presentations and assist when required
  •  Work with colleagues and staff from other departments and at times with outside vendors on projects or new 
         systems
  •  Continuing education to maintain competency

Qualifications

  •  Pharmacy Technician, licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  •  Two (2) years of experience as a pharmacy analyst/administration or project  Technician
  •  Demonstrated experience working with Omnicell and Meditech
  •  Experience with Meditech Magic report writing an asset
  •  Knowledge of pharmacy purchasing and inventory maintenance an asset
  •  Knowledge of application software: word/excel/power point
  •  Demonstrated ability to use initiative and good judgment
  •  Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  •  Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively with others
  •  Ability to multitask to achieve goals and objectives with specified time frame
  •  Team oriented and self-directed
