ROLE OVERVIEW

NHH Foundation is currently seeking to hire a motivated and creative full-time Digital Marketing & Fundraising Coordinator who is eager to grow their career in a supportive, collaborative environment. This role is ideal for someone lookin to build on their experience through hands-on involvement in digital campaigns, donor engagement, and fundraising initiatives, with a strong emphasis on taking initiative, contributing ideas, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve and enhance our work, while learning alongside an experienced team.

Reporting to the Director, Communications & Engagement, the Digital Marketing & Fundraising Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the Foundation’s marketing, communications, and community engagement efforts. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, driven, and collaborative individual, with a passion for social media, experience creating persuasive communications, a solid knowledge of traditional and digital communications, and a willingness to jump in and help to join the team.

The Digital Marketing & Fundraising Coordinator will work onsite at NHH and may also be required to attend Foundation-specific events within west Northumberland throughout the course of their role.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Digital Marketing & Fundraising Coordinator, you will:

  • Collaborate with the Director, Communications & Engagement to develop and execute strategic marketing and communications initiatives that support organizational goals and brand awareness.
  • Support the planning, writing, design, production, and distribution of a wide range of internal and external communications pieces, including print newsletters, direct mail, e-newsletters, media releases, website, and social media content.
  • Create engaging, innovative, and visually compelling multimedia content (including graphics, photography, and video) for Foundation’s social media, website, and other digital platforms.
  • Work with Director, Communications & Engagement to plan, develop, and execute creative social media strategies and advertising initiatives that drive audience engagement and growth.
  • Manage and monitor social media channels by responding to comments and inquiries, fostering community engagement, and maintaining an active and authentic online presence.
  • Stay abreast of changing technologies, social media platforms, and trends to effectively leverage NHH Foundation’s programs, events, and fundraising messaging and advise on new opportunities for Foundation to expand reach.
  • Support photography/videography needs of Foundation, including capturing and editing content for use across digital and print communications.
  • In conjunction with Director, Communications & Engagement, regularly review analytics to assess performance of Foundation content and use data to advise on content planning and/or new opportunities to grow and better engage audiences.
  • Support the printing and production of key event materials (posters, billboards, vinyl wraps etc.).
  • Assist with event planning and coordination.
  • Assist with set-up and take-down of Foundation events.
  • Assist in promotions, as well as coordination and execution on an as needed basis of key events, including fundraisers, and community engagement opportunities.
  • Effectively manage time to accomplish competing priorities over varying timelines, demonstrating excellence in prioritization and problem solving.
  • Collaborate with NHH and Auxiliary partners on cross-promotional activities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Occasionally work extended and non-standard hours, including weekends and evenings.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • 1–3 years experience in marketing, communications, social media, community engagement, event promotion/planning, or public relations.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in communications, marketing, journalism, PR, or related field.
  • Strong storytelling and digital content creation skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing social media campaigns and using analytics to drive engagement.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, team-oriented mindset with the initiative to bring forward ideas, take ownership of projects, and assist with all aspects of events and operations, including setup and teardown.
  • Professional and courteous communication with donors, volunteers, staff, and the public.
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Canva, WordPress, and Meta platforms.
  • Non-profit or fundraising experience considered an asset.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge/Blackbaud and/or video editing tools considered an asset.
  • Graphic design, photography and/or video creation experience considered assets.

 

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to sit for long period of time.
  • Up to four hours of continuous work on VDT.
  • Occasional periods of intense visual, listening, or mental concentration.
  • Office environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Will be required to attend special functions and offsite events requiring periods of sitting, standing and physical movement.
  • Ability to assist with the set-up of special fundraising functions may be necessary including transporting program materials.
  • This job involves routine local travel and a valid driver's license.

 

LOCATION AND ABOUT NHH

Located approximately 100 kilometres east of Toronto, NHH delivers a broad range of acute, post-acute, outpatient and diagnostic services. Acute services include emergency and intensive care, medical/surgical care, obstetrical care and palliative care. Post-acute specialty services (PASS) include restorative care and rehabilitation. Mental health care, cancer and supportive care, dialysis and other ambulatory care clinics are offered on an outpatient basis through partnerships with regional centres and nearby specialists. NHH offers a full range of diagnostic services, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) and mammography. The hospital serves the catchment area of west Northumberland County. A mixed urban and rural population of approximately 67,000 residents, west Northumberland comprises the Town of Cobourg, the Municipality of Port Hope, Alderville First Nation and the townships of Hamilton, Cramahe and Alnwick/Haldimand. EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

Successful applicants are required provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check, that was complete less than one year from the date of hire. This requirement must be met within the first sixty (60) days of employment.

Additionally, to the above, successful applicants are also required to complete the Health Care Worker Health review process which includes providing an up-to-date immunization record to ensure compliance with the Ontario Hospital Association Communicable Diseases Surveillance Protocols within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
