Bree Nixon
Bree Nixon accepted an interim appointment to the NHH Board table in late 2020, filling a seat left open by a resignation. Most recently a Community member of the Quality and Safety Committee, Bree’s 20-year career has focused on administration and communication. Currently she is employed with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories as a Communications Officer working with the Port Hope Area Initiative Project. Prior, Nixon was CEO of the Port Hope and District Chamber of Commerce for six years and also managed the Service Ontario office in Port Hope. Nixon's other skills include media experience; she worked as Eastern Office Manager for Classical 96.3 and 103.1 FM in Cobourg and served as Advertising Services Manager, specializing in American fashion magazines, at Dodd Media Group. Nixon's academic background includes a Business Diploma and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Studies.
Nixon is passionate about Port Hope, where she grew up, where her family has lived for over six generations and where she proudly raised her own sons. Nixon shows dedication to her community by serving on the Board of Directors for the Capitol Theatre (since 2010) and, for 10 years, through her ongoing work as an active member (and Past President) of the Rotary Club of Port Hope.
