Our collegial and busy ED at Northumberland Hills Hospital is seeking Emergency Room Physicians to enhance our 24/7 department operating sustainability.

We are a medium-sized (close to 40,000 visits per year) ED with a robust community and multidisciplinary supports that is committed to providing high quality, compassionate care through our “People First” philosophy. We have several services that support our Emergency Department including on-site Intensivists, Hospitalists, Obstetricians, Anesthesiologists, General Surgeons, and Radiologists with on-site CT and MRI. With a current mixture of solo coverage as well as dual coverage hours, we are looking for colleagues with Emergency Medicine training or focus. We provide onboarding support and robust orientation to the department and our Epic EMR.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

  • Licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (or eligibility for licensure in the Province of Ontario)
  • CCFP(EM), FRCP(EM), CCFP with emergency medicine experience or recent graduates with strong Emergency Medicine training and focus
  • Must hold current ACLS, ATLS and PALS Certification

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills and proven ability to work effectively with all department/team disciplines.
  • Full spectrum of high acuity clinical medicine, trauma and cardiac care skill set required
  • Evidence of continued medical education commitment to Emergency Medicine

Willing to work 4 shifts/month with at least one weekend as well as the ability to provide excellent quality of care during hours of solo coverage

NHH is affiliated with Queen’s University and is an educational site for the CCFP (EM) residents and the Queen’s CCFP Department of Family Medicine Residency Program. The preferred candidates would be expected to participate in teaching medical students and postgraduate medical trainees.

WORK EXPERIENCE

The applicant must be experienced, competent, and up to date with regard to general obstetrics and gynaecology.
