ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Manager, the Rehabilitation Assistant is responsible for working collaboratively within an interprofessional team and in keeping with the Northumberland Hills Hospital’s Shared Purpose and values to provide recreational activities in the treatment and rehabilitation of individuals with specific health conditions.

The Rehabilitation Assistant utilizes the principles, practices, and professional standards of care, to provide direct patient care to individuals and groups under the guidance of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to meet the needs of the patient and to maintain and optimize independent functioning. Administrative duties are carried out as required.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Physiotherapy Assistant (P.T.A.) / Occupational Therapy Assistant (O.T.A.) Certification from a fully accredited Community College required
Minimum of one-year experience as a Rehabilitation Assistant
B.C.L.S. required
Recognized competency in exercise and fitness. Recognized certification and levels of proficiency an asset

ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Patient Care Manager of the Emergency Department, the Crisis Clinician is responsible for the provision and coordination of mental health services in collaboration with the Manager of Mental Health to individuals presenting to the Emergency Department and within the community.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide mental health assessment, crisis de-escalation, risk assessment and safety planning to individuals presenting in the Emergency Department.
Assisting police and community services by responding to non-emergency mental health crisis situations in the community
Provide short-term individual counseling, provide information and referrals and case facilitation within the context of primary health care services in the Ontario Health East Region.
Collaborate between primary health care providers, Schedule 1 hospitals and the mental health and addiction treatment system in the Ontario Health East Region. To facilitate this collaboration, this position may include travel to hospitals, organizations, and agencies within the Ontario Health East Region.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Master of Social Work or a Master in related fields
Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Worker and Social Service Workers or College of Psychotherapy.
2 years of recent experience as an emergency department crisis intervention clinician
Knowledge of emergency psychiatry, crisis intervention principles and theory, community resources in mental health and substance abuse treatment

ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Manager, Performance & Analytics, the Performance & Analytics Analyst is responsible for the collection, reporting and analysis of corporate and program level performance data and standards to support organizational decision-making.

In this role, the Analyst supports both clinical and non-clinical teams, with a focus on Emergency Department operations, patient flow and acute inpatient services. They lead the development and maintenance of scorecards, dashboards and key performance indicators to monitor system pressures, throughput, quality outcomes and operational efficiencies. The Analyst extracts and integrates data from a diverse set of repositories to analyze and validate information, enabling evidence-based decision-making for both internal and external reporting requirements. They produce high-quality, timely reports that provide key insights into trends, operational challenges and opportunities for improvement.

The Analyst also works with internal and external partners to identify and support population helth trends, support the implementation of data governance practices across the organization and contribute to the implementation, adoption and ongoing maintenance of business intelligdence tools.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Graduate of a recognized post-secondary education program, preferably in Business Administration, Health Services, or equivalent.
Minimum two (2) years related experience in a healthcare setting, or working with healthcare related data, including a demonstrated understanding of healthcare related information, data analysis, report generation and information system interfaces
Certified Health Information Management Professional and a member in good standing with Canadian Health Information Management Association is preferred.
Proven knowledge of ICD-10-CA/CCI, Discharge Abstract Database (DAD), Case Mix Groupings (CMGs), National Ambulatory Coding Reporting System (NACRS), Comprehensive Ambulatory Care Classification System (CACS), National Rehabilitation Reporting System (NRS), and Resource Intensity Weight (RIW) methodologies.

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, Access and Flow, the Occupational Therapist will be part of the Allied Health team at NHH with a primary focus as part of a Geriatric Activation Team targeting intensive intervention for patients in the Emergency Department. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse in the extended class who holds a master’s degree in nursing with expertise in one or more clinical nursing specialties. In keeping with Northumberland Hills Hospital’s shared purpose and values, the NP is responsible for working together with the interprofessional team toward development, implementation, and evaluation of patient plans of care, and uses advanced knowledge, skill, and judgment in providing care and solutions for complex health-care issues for a specified patient population. This position will provide replacement coverage for the Emergency Department, Acute Care, and Post-Acute Specialty Services, and will function as MRP when appropriate. The Clinical Services NP will also support initiatives that promote integrated care across the continuum from the hospital to the community.

The NP utilizes a holistic approach that is grounded in evidence with an emphasis on health promotion and illness/injury prevention. The role includes direct comprehensive patient care including advanced assessment, diagnosing, prescribing, ordering, and interpreting lab, radiology, and ultrasound tests as per defined regulations and legislated scope of practice.

In addition to direct clinical care, the NP plays a leading role in the development and implementation of applicable clinical guidelines and protocols, promotes the use of research and evidence-based practice, provides expert support and consultation, and facilitates system change. Our collegial and busy ED at Northumberland Hills Hospital is seeking Emergency Room Physicians to enhance our 24/7 department operating sustainability.

We are a medium-sized (close to 40,000 visits per year) ED with a robust community and multidisciplinary supports that is committed to providing high quality, compassionate care through our “People First” philosophy. We have several services that support our Emergency Department including on-site Intensivists, Hospitalists, Obstetricians, Anesthesiologists, General Surgeons, and Radiologists with on-site CT and MRI. With a current mixture of solo coverage as well as dual coverage hours, we are looking for colleagues with Emergency Medicine training or focus. We provide onboarding support and robust orientation to the department and our Epic EMR.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

Licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (or eligibility for licensure in the Province of Ontario)
CCFP(EM), FRCP(EM), CCFP with emergency medicine experience or recent graduates with strong Emergency Medicine training and focus

The Northumberland Hills Hospital is currently seeking a LOCUM Obstetrician / Gynecologist to join our vibrant team/community for coverage during the summer of 2025. Practice opportunities include primary and consultation obstetrics, gynecologic surgery (fully equipped for minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery), outpatient clinics and emergency department consultation.

MATERNAL CHILD CARE PROGRAM AT NHH

The Maternal Child Care program provides low risk obstetrical care (Level 1) with approximately 550 births per year with capacity to grow. The birthing unit provides a family centered environment that is equipped with six labour and delivery beds – each with their own private and home-like suite; a dedicated C-section operating suite; and an advanced fetal and patient monitoring system.

Our team consists of registered nurses specifically trained in obstetrical and newborn care, obstetricians, family physicians, midwives, anesthetists, respiratory therapists, pharmacy staff, dietitians, social workers, and volunteers. This team is committed to the provision of exceptional patient care. The team actively participates in the MoreOB risk management program and follows the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists guidelines. The program is committed to mother-baby dyad care and works within a patient and family centered model of care. The hospital is currently working toward Baby Friendly Initiative accreditation and provides breastfeeding support.
