			<description>&lt;p&gt;The Northumberland Hills Hospital is currently seeking a full-time Obstetrician / Gynecologist to join our vibrant team. Practice opportunities include primary and consultation obstetrics, gynecologic surgery (fully equipped for minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery), outpatient clinics and emergency department consultation.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;MATERNAL CHILD CARE PROGRAM AT NHH&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The Maternal Child Care program provides low risk obstetrical care (Level 1) with approximately 550 births per year with capacity to grow. The birthing unit provides a family centered environment that is equipped with six labour and delivery beds &amp;ndash; each with their own private and home-like suite; a dedicated C-section operating suite; and an advanced fetal and patient monitoring system.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Our team consists of registered nurses specifically trained in obstetrical and newborn care, obstetricians, family physicians, midwives, anesthetists, respiratory therapists, pharmacy staff, dietitians, social workers, and volunteers. This team is committed to the provision of exceptional patient care. The team actively participates in the MoreOB risk management program and follows the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists guidelines. The program is committed to mother-baby dyad care and works within a patient and family centered model of care. The hospital is currently working toward Baby Friendly Initiative accreditation and provides breastfeeding support.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT&lt;/strong&gt;:&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;li&gt;Must have Fellowship in Obstetrics/Gynecology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (or eligibility for licensure in the Province of Ontario)&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Must possess strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work effectively with all department / team disciplines in a supportive best practice environment (interprofessional collaboration)&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We are a medium-sized (close to 40,000 visits per year) ED with a robust community and multidisciplinary supports that is committed to providing high quality, compassionate care through our &amp;ldquo;People First&amp;rdquo; philosophy. We have several services that support our Emergency Department including on-site Intensivists, Hospitalists, Obstetricians, Anesthesiologists, General Surgeons, and Radiologists with on-site CT and MRI. With a current mixture of solo coverage as well as dual coverage hours, we are looking for colleagues with Emergency Medicine training or focus. We provide onboarding support and robust orientation to the department and our Epic EMR.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;NHH is a 137-bed community hospital with 4 daily ORs planned for this Fall (expanded from 3). NHH also has a low-risk Obstetrics Program with approximately 600 deliveries per year and a dedicated C-Section OR. Additionally, we have a 10-bed ICU staffed by intensivists.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We provide Anesthesia for the following services: General Surgery, OB/GYN, Urology, Plastics, Orthopedics, Dental, ENT (Paeds ages 2 and up), Cataracts, Endoscopy, and Minor Vascular (Vein Stripping).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;NHH has a well-equipped OR with new Drager Zeus machines, TCI pumps, and Sedlines in each OR. We also have two excellent Anesthesia Assistants.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We are a fee-for-service site with HOCC on-call funding. There are also additional opportunities and financial supports available.&lt;/p&gt;
